The keynote presentation will address ways in which various media platforms are converging to capture an audience and tell a story. This keynote session will provide insight into views on collapsing traditional distribution windows; the impact of digitization and 3D films on box office revenues and how this affects 2D revenue; and film finance in the context of corporate and financial markets.

11:45am – 12:45pm Government Incentives for Live Action Productions, Animation and 3D Installations
Traditionally, governments in Asia and surrounding regions have not been very active with financially supporting filmmakers through various tax incentives and subsidies. Fortunately, the paradigm is shifting as governments realize the economic benefits of the entertainment industry, and in particular, the branding power of film. This session will address which film commissions are beginning to offer the most beneficial incentives and how filmmakers and financiers can utilize these new incentives.

Sales agents from Asia are increasingly participating in international film markets, but with a competitive and challenging environment, this session will address key strategies for success to attain traditional distribution in Asia, the US and globally. Additionally, electronic delivery is increasingly becoming an effective way to distribute content across international borders, hence this session will also explore:
- The impact of digital distribution on Asian films
- Monetizing on straight to DVD, VOD, micro-distributors, and IPTV platforms
- 3D upgrades in theaters and box office implications
- Simultaneous release strategies

3:30 – 4:30pm Working on Co-Production and Co-Financing Partnerships in Asia
Accessing strategic partners to finance, produce and distribute films is becoming a more popular way to structure movie deals around the world. This session will explore the impact of partnerships and joint ventures on financing films, managing cost, and gaining larger distribution with Asian companies. Our panel of experts will discuss ways to identify the right partners; structure these deals for maximized profit; utilize subsidies across borders; and present companies who are currently seeking partnerships.
4:30 – 5:30pm Exploring Alternative Investments from P&A Funds to Digital Media and Post-Production Facilities
This session will cover investment opportunities to consider within the film business beyond financing a film or a slate of films, including P&A fund opportunities, real estate/theatrical acquisitions; digital/technology companies; and post-production facilities. In addition, this session will address how studios and independent producers can benefit from partnering with such companies.
